Airtel Free Browsing From Free basics

One day on my way back from work, work was great that day except that I forgot my phone's battery charger at home. So throughout that day even though I tried so hard to minimize the way I use my phone, the phone still went off by 2 o'clock in the afternoon. I was bored, no Internet, no whatsapp, no Twitter, there was nothing, so I decided to read a book, which I did till 5pm. Yay! finally I could go home, charge my phone and communicate with friends and family. But something happened on my way back home, this is exactly what I want to share with you now, just in case you don't know.

While I was sitting quietly inside the bus, enjoying the view outside the window, a friend of mine tapped me on my shoulder, she was all smiles because it has been a while we saw each other. We talked and laughed until there was nothing serious to talk about anymore, so I collected her phone so I could just have a sneak peek into Facebook, but lo and behold, her data subscription just finished that morning according to her, damn that was when I discovered that I was becoming an Internet addict, but I don't think every addiction is a bad thing though. While we were still talking about her lack of data and credit in her airtel sim, Facebook page loaded with zero Naira and 0mb I wasn't really surprised because I thought it was one of airtel's free browsing cheat. But it is not. It is free basics from Facebook and internet.org, it is powered by Airtel in Nigeria. Another reason to buy an airtel line.

Free Basics makes the internet accessible to more people by providing them access to a range of free basic services like news, maternal health, travel, local jobs, sports, communication, and local government information.

To date, free basics have been able to offer these services to a billion people across Asia, Africa and Latin America. By introducing people to the benefits of the internet through these services, free basics hope to bring more people online and help improve their lives. Free Basics is part of the Internet.org by Facebook initiative.

There are tons of popular websites you can surf for free through the free basics initiative, for now your passport to this free access to the Internet is a registered Airtel sim card. You can check freebasics.com for the full list of websites you can access for free at any day and any time.

Here are some of the popular websites you can access for free;
NAIRALAND
BBC
FACEBOOK
JOBBERMAN
NAIJ
OLX
etc. The list goes on and on and on.
So insufficient data is no longer and excuse.

One last thing, never forget your charger if you don't have an extra battery pack.

Cheers.
