How to remove shortcut virus from your flash drive in less than 30 seconds

Computer viruses are annoying, but there are many reasons why these viruses were created. There is one particular virus I don't seems to understand its purpose, the shortcut virus.

computer virus imagesThe shortcut virus turns your folders to shortcuts and hides all files inside the affected folders. They have been cases where you know your pen drive is filled up but you wouldn't be able to access your files, it shows you've used up all its free space but you can't find any file when you plug it into a PC.

How to permanently REMOVE shortcut virus from your sd card/ hard disk / pen drive, and unhide your folders.

You don't need to download any app for this easy process, all you need is your PC.

If you are on Windows 7 or older, just click on start menu > Run. Then type CMD.

If you are on Windows 8 or newer, go to start menu then type CMD.

CMD is basically your command prompt window. Open it then type this line of codes without the quotation marks (" ");" attrib -h -r -s /s /d X:\*.* "

Where X:\*.* is your drive letter. It could be E or F, just go to " My computer" to check your drive assigned letter.

If it is your sd card that is infected, you might have to use a card reader for this process so it will be assigned a drive letter.

So if your drive letter is E: then this is exactly what you should type in your cmd: attrib -h -r -s /s /d E:\*.*

After typing the aforementioned codes, now check your sd card / pen drive / Hard drive and delete the shortcuts.
